When did you think: Oogenlust, I want to work there!
In the years I visited Oogenlust, when they were located in Veldhoven. I always thought, it would be so cool to be a part of this company! With such passion the people work here in their profession, the great sense of styling in the store and the beautiful events I saw here and there decorated by Oogenlust made me always keep an eye on the company.
At that time I couldn't really think of a job within the company since I didn't have any experience in working with flowers or events, so that is why I never send an application.
In the last years I developed myself as a designer and visualizer (3d impressions) so when I saw the job opening online with literally this description, I couldn’t beat the bush anymore. Never have I spent so much time and effort in applying for a job, but luckily it was worth the effort!
What is it like to work at Oogenlust?
Amazing! I am a proud Oogenluster! Just saying this is just the most beautiful place to work at in the Netherlands? When you arrive in the morning there is jazzy music on the parking lot, I walk by little lams that are playing in the grass, I hear frogs in the pond, then I walk by the work places where our crew is working there ass off to make all the Ideas come to life. In the floristry it smells like exotic flowers and the most beautiful creations are made there. Then I walk through the store where the baobab candles are producing a lovely smell, to our office. In the office we have a fantastic view of the whole domain! Then I just feel like the luckiest person! I couldn't imagine that this will ever be normal. I have the feeling that I am growing every day in my job because I'm facing new challenges. This gives me a healthy tension that I like having.
What makes your job the most fun?
Every day is different. In the morning I usually do not know what the day will bring, and I kind of like that, it keeps me on my toes. The one day I am visualizing a 3-day wedding event and the next a corporate event or I am designing a flyer container, just saying to point out the versatility. I keep developing my skills and they really give me the space to do so. And what also makes it special is that I am aloud to think about the event and how we can bring the visual to life. And when you see it all come to life after you have only seen it on paper, that is really cool!
Every pro has a con..
When I am under a tight schedule, I sometimes cannot visualize it how I want it to, and if they pitch the assignment to a client and we do not get the job, that is very disappointing.
